1.     SMC 9th Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony on 27 Oct, Sunday, 9 am
Venue: HDB shelter Block 350, Canberra Road (opp Sembawang MRT)
We are happy to invite you to our 9th Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony on 27 October 2013, Sunday at 9 am.  Our meditation teachers and advisors, Sayadaw U Rajinda and Sayadaw U Sajjanalankara are currently residing at the Satipatthana Meditation Centre for the three-month vassa period.  The ceremony will be held at the HDB shelter, Block 350, Canberra Road (opposite Sembawang MRT station – exit Entrance C).  Devotees who wish to offer Kathina robes and requisites to the Sangha are welcome to participate in this meritorious offering ceremony.  Robes will be available for offering at the centre.

                  Lunch for all devotees

2.   Pindapata (alms food offering): 27 Oct 2013, Sunday,  8.30 am
at Chong Pang Market, Yishun Ring Road
On Sunday 27 Oct Sept, our Venerables will be going on pindapata (collection of alms food) at 9-9.30am in the vicinity of the market (near platform area) at Chong Pang City, Yishun Ring Road.  Giving alms food or food dana is one of the meritorious deeds. Everyone is welcome to participate in this meritorious event and share the merit. Please do not offer money during the alms round as the monks will accept food only.

3.     Group Meditation Sessions:  6, 13, 20 Oct (Sun), 9.30 am – 6.30 pm
       Group meditation will be conducted on every Sunday of the month from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm.  Lunch will be provided for all yogis. Attendance is by registration only. Yogis have to register by Friday every week.  To register, sms or call Saw Lai Sein 98520817 or Kyaw Han 96199540.
Sponsors for lunch dana and maintenance expenses, as well as Dhamma volunteers, are most welcome.   Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

4.    Uposatha Observance of 9 Precepts cum Retreat: 23 Jul - 19 Oct 2013 at 9.30 am
       Uposatha observance days will be conducted at the centre during vassa period.  We are pleased to invite lay devotees who wish to take 3 Refuges and observe 9 Precepts on new moon, 1st quarter, full moon & last quarter.  The sessions will be conducted in Burmese.

A series of Sutta discussions (in English) will be conducted by Sayadaw U Sajjanalankara (Dvipitakadhara).

     SMC Youth Meditation Retreat, 23-27 Nov 2013, 9.30 am - 6.30 pm
Satipatthana Meditation Centre (SMC) is inviting young adults to join Special Youth Meditation Retreat Programme (2013). This retreat is specially conducted as the first time for young adults from age 15 to 25.
Date: Nov 23 (Sat) - Nov 27 (Weds)
Time: 9:30am - 6:30pm at SMC  (day retreat)
Age limit: 15 - 25 (younger ones will be considered if they are keen)
Teachers: Sayadaw U Rajinda,  Sayadaw U Sajjanalankara
Precept observed: 8 Right Livelihood precepts combined with Loving Kindness.
Language: English (Burmese upon request)
