1.     SMC 10th Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony on 26 Oct, Sunday, 9 am
Venue: HDB shelter Block 350, Canberra Road (opp Sembawang MRT)
We are happy to invite you to our 10th Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony on 26 October 2014, Sunday at 9 am.  Our meditation teacher and advisor, Sayadaw U Rajinda is currently residing at the Satipatthana Meditation Centre for the three-month vassa period.  The ceremony will be held at the HDB shelter, Block 350, Canberra Road (opposite Sembawang MRT station – exit Entrance C).  Devotees who wish to offer Kathina robes and requisites to the Sangha are welcome to participate in this meritorious offering ceremony.  Robes will be available for offering at the centre.

3.  3-Day Holiday Meditation Retreat, 4-6 Oct 2014
A 3-day holiday Vipassana meditation retreat will be conducted at the centre by Sayadaw U Rajinda.

Medium of Instruction: Burmese & English
Food Dana for Sangha & yogis are welcome!

4.     Group Meditation Sessions:  5, 12 & 19 Oct (Sun), 9.30 am – 6.30 pm
       Group meditation will be conducted on every Sunday of the month from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm.  Lunch will be provided for all yogis. Attendance is by registration only. Yogis have to register by Friday every week.  To register, sms or call Saw Lai Sein 98520817 or Kyaw Han 96199540.

5.    Uposatha Observance of 9 Precepts cum Retreat: 11 Jul - 8 Oct 2014 at 10 am
       Uposatha observance days will be conducted at the centre during vassa period.  We are pleased to invite lay devotees who wish to take 3 Refuges and observe 9 Precepts on new moon, 1st quarter, full moon & last quarter.  The sessions will be conducted in Burmese.

6.      Upcoming Activities in November: 
SMC Youth Meditation Retreat, 26-30 Nov 2014, 9.30 am - 6.30 pm
Satipatthana Meditation Centre (SMC) is inviting young adults to join Special Youth Meditation Retreat Programme (2014). This retreat is specially conducted for young adults  to gain the essence of true Buddhist teachings.
 The objectives of conducting the Youth Retreat are:
- to develop self-awareness in youth and be able to apply in current hectic world.
- to provide the training of True Buddhist Culture (Sila, Samadhi & Panna) and carry on as new generations.
- to nourish humble physical, verbal and mental behaviours in youth.
- to find out how Mindfulness and Vipassana practice is essential in one's life.

Numerous benefits could be gained through diligent practice for yogis who are keen. Early registration is needed as limited seats are available.

Youth yogis will learn following subjects from theoretical and practical aspects according to the tradition of the late Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw.
- Fundamentals of the Buddhism, training of Morality, Concentration and Wisdom.
- Systematic approach to Vipassana meditation designed for youth beginners.
- How to attain strong Mindfulness and how to sharpen it
- Importance of Vipassana and how to apply it in daily life.
- Observing precepts, Dhamma Talk by Sayadaw and Metta Chanting Sessions.
- Mentorship Programme with demonstrations, practical workshops, video and slide show presentations.
- Q&A sessions

Age limit: 15 - 25 (younger ones will be considered if they are keen)
